Christine MacWade, LICSW, BCD
Executive Director
Christine serves as the Executive Director of Family Services. Christine has a BS in Human Services from Fitchburg State College and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Boston College. Christine joined Family Services in 1996 as the Director of Elder Services. She became Clinical Director in 2000. Christine has an extensive background working with elders and their families. Christine has worked diligently with other community agencies in coordinating and advocating services for the elder population. She has also worked with many businesses providing mental health services for such tragedies as 9/11, the Egypt Air flight 990 crash and the Edgewater Technology murders. She is a certified crisis prevention instructor and post trauma intervention specialist. Christine is leading the agency to respond to the continuing challenges faced by families and businesses in our community.

Joanne Gravell, SC.M.
Director, Child Care Connection
Joanne has been on staff at Child Care Connection since 1989 and has served as director since 1994. She majored in public health receiving her undergraduate degree from University of Massachusetts/Amherst and her master’s from John Hopkins University. She has worked as a trainer and program coordinator in the child care field. Joanne is the author of the “Family Child Care Health and Safety” course.

Gwen Carelli , MA, LMHC
EAP Manager
Gwen received her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College in 1996. Since that time she has worked with Family Services EAP providing account management, training, counseling and critical incident services. Gwen's counseling experience includes work with individuals and couples with a variety of issues including co-dependence, depression and anxiety. Gwen has extensive workplace related training ability including employee/employer relations, sexual harassment issues and conflict resolution.

Barbara Girouard, ASLA, Director of Home Care.
Barbara has 26 years of Home Care experience. She started as a Home Health Aide in 1981. Four years later she was promoted to Home Care Supervisor and in 2000 Senior Home Care Supervisor. She graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Human Services. Barbara finds her work rewarding and she is committed to keeping elders in their homes.

Glenda Lee Daou, MA, LMHC
Director of Counseling
Glenda's experiences as a Bilingual (English/Spanish speaking) Licensed Mental Health Counselor, includes individual and family counseling with children, adolescents, and adults encountering a number of psychosocial issues including Anxiety, Depression, Loss/Grief, Homelessness, Divorce, Childhood and Adult trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Glenda has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Becker College, a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Worcester State and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College. While at Assumption, Glenda concentrated her studies in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Child and Family Interventions. Glenda has worked with children and families in Central Massachusetts for over nine years. As the Director of Counseling, Glenda is committed to ensuring that our agency continues to provide quality client-centered, evidence-based, and culturally competent mental health services.

Bill Barker, LICSW
Bill received his Master in Social Work from Boston University. Bill provides individual, couples and group therapy. He specializes in substance abuse treatment and recovery issues. He leads the Personal Growth Group.

Jack Bonina, LICSW
Jack received his Master in Social Work from the University of Connecticut. He specializes in family issues with emphasis on single parent, blended family and divorce as well as substance abuse and mental health issues. Jack serves as the community services coordinator responsible for outreach to community agencies. Jack developed and leads both the Fathers Parenting Group and the Fathers and Family Network.

Phil Trapasso, MSW
Crisis Management Specialist
Phil earned a Master's degree from the Boston College School of Social Work in 1986. As a Massachusetts State Police Captain (retired), he provided critical incident response to over 40 shootings involving police officers in his 32-year career. During his service with the State Police, he co-founded the State Police Stress Unit, a predecessor to their Employee Assistance Unit. The Stress Unit provided officers and their families with a resource during times of personal crisis. Phil's work now acts as a foundation for similar police programs across the nation. Phil provided trauma counseling services following the Edgewater Technology office shootings, and is an integral part of Family Services Violence Prevention Program.

Bob Nichols, MA, LMHC, LADC-I, CADAC-II
Bob is licensed as both a mental health counselor and as an alcohol and drug counselor. He received his Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University New England Graduate School and has been providing counseling services to the community since 1989. Bob specializes in substance abuse assessment and treatment as well as anger management and domestic issues. Bob sees individual clients, couples, families and adolescents and concentrates in the areas of personality disorders, mood disorders, stress and anxiety as well as parenting and codependency issues. In addition, Bob provides EAP services, presents on a variety of training topics, EAP counseling assessments and referrals and critical incident services. He is state certified as a Behavioral Health Disaster Responder and is part of the Massachusetts statewide Disaster Response Network.

Mary C. Johnson, LCSW
Mary earned a Master of Social Work from Salem State College. As a second year graduate student she completed a social work internship at Family Services of Central Massachusetts. Although her primary focus is providing individual and family support to adolescents and their families she has a range of experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities.
